Island Hopper Fest
The Island Hopper Fest is a 10-day, award-winning festival that includes some of the best and brightest in country and rock. It will be taking place on Captiva Island from September 22nd-24th, in addition to downtown Fort Myers, Cape Coral, and Fort Myers Beach on other weekends. Grammy award-winning songwriter Tim James will be performing aboard the Captiva Sunset Cruise with Angie K, a musician who has shared stages all over the country with Tanya Tucker, Big & Rich, Sammy Kershaw, Trace Adkins, Jake Owen, and Melissa Ethridge. Tours Are Back at the CROW on Sanibel Island
The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) on Sanibel Island is opening back up to the public through guided campus tours. Every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, you can experience an amazing campus tour from 11 AM-12:30 PM. Every tour will give you a close look at what wildlife patients at the facility experience, from the inside of the hospital to the treatments that get them ready for release. You will also be able to see how the CROW is rebuilding in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian. You do need to register and pay ahead to reserve your spot by calling 239-472-3644 ext. 229 or emailing reservations@crowclinic.org.
The Ultimate Cruising Course at Offshore Sailing School
The Offshore Sailing School located on Captiva Island is rolling out its very first catamaran and monohull cruising course that lets you try out both. This new course is called the Ultimate Monohull and Catamaran Cruising Course, and it is being offered at ‘Tween Waters Island Resort & Spa on Captiva Island. This course is a great addition to their existing course offerings, which also include everything from basic sailing lessons to big boat certifications.
